Elder Abuse & Welfare Investigation
Our experienced investigators work diligently to detect and document signs of elder abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation. All residents in long-term care facilities across the state are entitled to rights and protections. We gather evidence to protect your loved one providing clear insights into their environment.
Rates of abuse of older people are high in institutions such as nursing homes and long-term care facilities. Avoid one-size-fits-all programs. Ensure the facility conducts a full assessment, and tailors a program to your loved one’s specific needs. Red flags include unexplained physical injuries (bruises, burns, fractures), sudden behavioral changes such as extreme fear, or withdrawal, poor hygiene, malnutrition, and uncharacteristic financial activity such as missing money, unpaid bills, or unexpected changes to a will. Always visit the facility prior to placement; at least one visit should be without notice to the facility.
"Troubled Teen" Treatment Center Investigation
Every year, thousands of vulnerable teens are sent to programs many miles from home. Children in programs can be at risk for physical and emotional, and sexual abuse as states commonly fail to monitor, and track mistreatment reports.
We assist families in their decision-making process by investigating the safety of teen residential treatment centers, boot camps, therapeutic schools, and other programs with a focus on attaining crucial information such as: state licensing, and accreditation by reputable organizations, background checks of staff qualifications, parent communication, and visitation policies, financial health of the facility, state inspections including safety violations, complaint history, reported runaways, accidents, and deaths.
Financial Health of the Facility Investigation
We offer families investigation of the financial health of for-profit treatment centers to avoid paying for services that may be abruptly terminated due to bankruptcy. Families should watch for Red Flags such as: aggressive marketing with pressure to enroll, unclear or hidden costs, sudden changes in staff or services, asking for a large payment upfront, and the contract does not include a cancellation, and refund policy.
